Coral looks at cricket.

Coral looks on as England and New Zealand square up on Wednesday in the 4th one-day international with the form tide turning towards the Kiwi’s.

The last two one day performances by England have been a far cry to the first match of the series when England destroyed the tourists by 114 runs thanks largely to the inventive batting of Kevin Pietersen.

In the second game at Edgbaston it was only the weather and a controversial decision to abandon the match with one over before a result could be declared that saved Paul Collingwood’s team from defeat. New Zealand continued to turn the tables on their hosts in the last match winning by 22 runs after a typical England collapse at the top of the order.

You would have to be a very brave man to back England in the next instalment on the sole reason they are far too inconsistent. If we were treating this as a horse race you would go with the Black caps as the form side.www.coral.co.uk

Every time England look to finally have the 50 over format cracked they disappoint and New Zealand are nothing if not consistent. Daniel Vettori’s men are ranked third in the world in one day internationals and will punish England if they make any errors.

England opener Ian Bell is a doubt for the match with knee injury and if he misses the tie he will leave a big gap to fill at the top of the order as one of the countries best one-day players.
