bet365

If you’re a West ham fan you won’t want to be on the bet365 website at the moment with the Stoke based firm offering some rather negative odds on the East London side.

The ‘Hammers’ have got off to an indifferent start to the season and seem to be losing star names quicker than leaves disembarking from an autumnal tree. With Anton Ferdinand off to Sunderland and Craig Bellamy the latest player to be linked with a move away combined with their three-nil defeat at Manchester City bet265 have cut West Ham’s odds for relegation from 8/1 to 13/2.

In addition to the doom mongering around the clubs Premiership status I don’t expect manager Alan Curbishley will be betting with the firm in the near future with them offering odds on, 8/11, that he won’t last the season.

With regards to matters a lot further north Bet365 are slightly more optimistic on the future of Michael Owen. The England front-man has finally recovered for Newcastle and is back among the goals after a summer spent either injured or ill. The miniature hitman is available at 8/11 that he’ll score more than 12.5 goals this season well within his range if he stays fit.

However the firm are less positive about his England chances with him slightly odds on at 1/2 not to start the tree lions qualifier against Andorra.

Who will win the most Gold Medals?

With Beijing now under way let’s have a look at who I think will be the Country that will in the most Gold Medals at the Olympic Games.

Host Country China have some very talented athletes competing in Beijing in quite a lot of the events and with them having the added advantage of the humidity levels in China and of course the Smog you can be sure they will be towards the top end of the Medal Table come the end of the Olympics.

Another Country that I think will do well is Russia who traditionally does well at the Games but with a cloud already over the team who already have had seven athletes fail drug tests and been sent home I feel winning the most Golds at the Games is still achievable but very unlikely but I expect them to finish in the Top 3 in the Medals Table.

So we now come to my choice to win the Most Gold Medals and that will I’m sure come as no surprise will be the USA simply based on their vast array of talent throughout their team especially in the Track and Field where you can expect the American national anthem being played on a regular basis. There swimming team is also very strong second only to Australia in my eyes and when you add their strength in the Boxing and some of the other events which has a lot of gold Medals on offer I feel they will be clear at the top of the Gold Table come the end of the Games.

Alex Arthur should have no trouble when he defends his WBO super-featherweight championship against Nicky Cook next month.

1/4 shot Arthur can now claim a 10 fight unbeaten record after losing to the unpredictable Michael Gomez back in October 2003 and seems to be getting better with every fight. The 30-year-old dispatched Salford’s Steve Foster Junior in his last bout and although the former WBU featherweight champion took him the distance the Scot was easily the winner by a unanimous points decision.

‘Amazing’ Alex has proved over the last two years he has few weaknesses and is more than capable of stopping a fighter early as he is just as comfortable going the distance. 19 of his 26 victories have come by the way of knock out, which will be a worry for his opponent whose only defeat has come before the end of the scheduled rounds.

Dagenham based Cook is given another shot at the big time despite a crushing 11th round knock out defeat to Steven Luevano when fighting for the WBO featherweight crown a little over a year ago. Since then he has been back in the ring at the beginning of this year when he was allowed to get his confidence back with a victory over journeyman Kirkor Kirkorov inside two rounds.

All in all the champion should be a class above and continue his reign at the top of the Super-featherweight division.
