With a total prize fund of over £1million, it is no wonder it was a real battle for first place. Of course, the total prize fund doesn’t just go to the winner though as there are a number of other cash prizes awarded. The winner received a cool quarter of million pounds and that lucky player this year was John Higgins. This was his third World Championship title of his career. Will the UK sports betting odds reflect this achievement?

John Higgins battled it out in the final against Shaun Murphy and Murphy no doubt thought, he would be a much closer competitor but Higgins was just too good. Higgins got through his first round with no trouble and in the second round, met Jamie Cope. This proved to be a nail biter as two members of the audience had to receive medical treatment for fainting! Higgins was losing 12-10 but managed to pull it back.

Playing the world number 4 in the quarter finals also played havoc with the nerves as this went to the last few frames. The semi-finals saw Higgins have a good start and leading at one point 13-3 but his opponent, Mark Allen, pulled some frames back but it eventually finished 17-13 to Higgins. He met Shaun Murphy in the final and eventually went on to win 18-9, lifting his third world title!

This week sees two of the biggest matches in European football www.SportsBook.com has ever seen, as the second leg of two semi finals takes place. Tuesday evening witnesses the first which is the all English tie between Arsenal and Manchester United.

The first leg took place last week and saw current champions Manchester United take a slender 1-0 lead to the Emirates although it should have been a much greater margin, had it not been for Arsenal’s goalkeeper and Man of the Match Manuel Almunia, that would have been the case. The other semi final was between last year’s beaten finalists Chelsea and favourites to win this seasons competition, Barcelona.

The first leg at the Nou Camp last week resulted in a 0-0 draw which you would expect to favour Chelsea, but as proven at the weekend when Barcelona visited the Bernabau to play arch rivals Real Madrid, they absolutely demolished them 6-2, this shows they can go anywhere and score, and UK sports betting odds could be greatly affected.

The final will take place at the end of May and it is held in a different European city every year, this year it will be held in Rome. Favourites to lift the trophy are Barcelona but in all honesty, any of the above teams could take glory, granted Arsenal have a more difficult challenge as they are 1-0 down but at the same time they are on some amazing form at the minute, probably better than anybody else so there is every chance they can overturn the heartache of three season ago when they lost in the final, in fact I really hope they do.

This year’s Heineken Cup at www.Totesport.com will be between top Irish outfit Leinster and the most consistent side in rugby for the past 5 years Leicester after two very different semi finals which had more than could possibly imagine.

Leicester’s game at Cardiff had everything you would expect in a typical English V Welsh Rugby Union encounter but for the first time ever in ruby the game had to be settled via a penalty shootout which I know sounds strange but is very true. Leicester generally looked the stronger throughout and with tries from Hamilton and Murphy either side of the interval they looked to have the game sealed at 26-12 but a great fight back by Cardiff had the game level at 26-26 each at the final whistle. Then there was 20 minutes of overtime which also failed to gain a winner which left the authorities with no other choice than to have a penalty shootout to decide the winners.

After the first five kicks each the game was still level at 4 each before Cardiff’s Williams missed his kick leaving Leicester’s Jordan Crane the hero after he sailed his kick through the posts to send his team through to the final.
The other semi between two Irish sides Munster and Leinster was pretty much one way traffic with the away side streaking to a well deserved 25-6 victory and send the much fancied Munster packing out of the tournament, the game was marred though by a gouging incident which if proven guilty could leave Leinster’s Alan Quinlan out of the British Lions tour to South Africa.

But One thing I can guarantee from Rugby Unions biggest club cup on final day is that it will be a feast of top quality stuff between two sides packed full of Internationals that I am sure will make for a special day for those at the ground or those sat behind the television with their UK sports betting odds at hand.

The Coca-Cola Championship on www.PaddyPower.ie has now drawn to a close and unfortunately for three teams, that means the end of their run in the top league and hello to Coca-Cola League 1. These teams are Norwich City, Southampton and Charlton.

For UK sports betting odds at PaddyPower.ie click here!

For Norwich, August 2009 didn’t really get off to a good start having lost 1 game in the league and then drawing 3 league games. The wins started to come in September though, notching up 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw. From October to December, their tally of wins reached just 5 out of a possible 17! 2009 didn’t bring them much luck either as the wins they were getting just weren’t enough to save them from the relegation battle that went underway. It came to May 3rd to give them the answer they were dreading and after losing to Charlton, they were officially relegated.

The points accumulated by Southampton from August-April were put on the back burner because on the 23rd April 2009, the team were deducted 10 points because the club went into administration. Now some would argue why should the team be punished for this and to be honest, I don’t know the answer to that, it isn’t fair in my opinion, but Southampton had to play the hand they were dealt and unfortunately they didn’t. Overall this season, they just won 10 games and lost a staggering 21!

Charlton were pretty much the same. Their poor statistics and UK sports betting odds were the main factor in them being relegated this season having won just 8 games out of a possible 46.

www.Betfair.com knows that snooker is certainly a sport that seems to grow year on year with its newest players and of course by gaining new fans ever year. The aim of the match is to get more points than your opponent by potting more balls or by playing the most strategic game.

For sports betting online at BetFair.com click here!

There are 22 different balls on the table, 15 red balls and they all signify 1 point each, the yellow ball signifies 2 points, the brown ball gets you 3 points and the green ball gets you 4 points. These three balls are separated across the D shape line at the top, this is also where the cue ball starts from. In the middle of the table is where the blue ball sits and this is worth 5 points, then towards the bottom of the table are two other dots on the table with a big space between them.

The first dot is for the pink ball which valuation is 6 points, the dot at the bottom of the table is for the black ball which is worth 7 points and simultaneously is worth the highest amount of the balls at the table. Between the Pink and Black is where the red balls go, 15 of them and they are all worth one point each. To earn points you must at first pot a Red ball and then follow this up with a colour, obviously the best way would be to pot the Black after every Red ball you have potted. Once all the reds are gone the colours must then be potted in order of points, starting at yellow and finishing on the black.

At bwww.bet365.co.uk, a fight that was billed as one of the best of the year and perhaps decade Sunday mornings so called fight to determine who is the best pound for pound fighter on the planet looked like a miss match with Manny Pacquiao destroying Ricky Hattan within two rounds and after De La Hoya in his last fight I feel he has now retired another of these so called great fighters.

For sports betting online at Bet365.co.uk click here!

After Ricky Hattan’s last attempt to be crowned best pound for pound was ended by Floyd Maywhether junior this latest attempt did seem a bit likelier with Hattan getting Maywhether senior on board to do his training and after his latest two or three fights he did seem to be hitting the ring in a different frame of mind and instead of just treating each fight as a slugfest he seemed to be thinking about the fight more and was looking the more complete fighter that could be prepared to fight the best in the world in a weight division that continues to regualrly show the best fights due to a high number of genuine world class fighters.

UK sports betting odds rumours of a fallout between Hattan and Maywhether just before the fight could not of helped matters and after the end of the 1st round Hattan looked already out of it after coming out all guns blazing like the old days which surely Pacquiao would have loved and with his hand speed managed to hurt Hattan badly.
The punch that ended the fight at the end of the 2nd round too be fair was one heck of a shot and would have finished anyone that was on the end of it and Ricky this morning I am sure is thinking has it ended him?

David Haye is rated at Cruiserweight and Heavyweight and has potentially one of the biggest fights of his career coming up. Haye will be training for this fight at his training camp based in Kyrenia, Cyprus. Haye started his amateur career in 1999 and began his professional career in 2002. This career went off with a bang as he knocked out his first opponent in the second round!

His next big fight has been scheduled for the 20th June 2009 in Germany and he will be boxing against Wladimir Klitschko, who is ranked number 1 by the International Boxing Organisation. This will no doubt be a great battle and it is anybody’s guess as to who will win. UK sports betting odds can be viewed at Coral sports book.

It took such a long time to get this fight organised, it was also suggested that it was never actually going to happen because none of the camps could agree a fee or location! The first choice venue for Haye was the US but for Klitschko, he saw more benefit in the fight being held in Europe. This was then agreed.

In Haye’s professional boxing career, he has an astounding record with 22 wins, 21 of those were knockouts and he has lost just once in his professional career to a fellow Brit, Carl Thompson. This doesn’t matter though as David Haye is going to be a name to remember for the future!

totesport.com review

Totesport.com is without doubt one of the industry leaders in the online bookmaking world and after taking a quick look at the website you can see why.

They offer fantastic odds on all different sports. The layout of the site is so easy to use and looks very appealing to any potential new members visiting the site. A lot of sites can baffle you when first visit it I found Totesport one of the easiest sites to use that I have ever visited, in a bookies sense.

Down the left hand side of the site is a list of all the different sites that you can place your bets on, ranging from the most obvious like football and horse racing, right down to the not so popular sports such as Darts and Speedway.

Like all betting sites they have some fantastic offers and promotions available to any new members but also to its existing members, for example if you refer a friend to sign up, once they have signed up and placed their first bet you are then credited with a FREE £10 bet just for introducing them.

There is also a Casino section of the site and if you sign up to that area you receive a 100% welcome bonus on your initial deposit, for a deposit up to the value of £100.

Also with the Grand National running this weekend there are always a handful of non-runners, if you do back a non runner through totesport, they will refund you your money so you’re not missing out.

Totesport.co.uk Review

Totesport.co.uk – The UEFA Champions League, one of the biggest and best football competitions not only across Europe but also the world. The competition which has changed his format several times over the years, now appears to be the competition that governing body UEFA always wanted it to be.

To place your bet at totesport.co.uk click here!

The competition is competed by the top teams across Europe and they have all qualified through their domestic seasons, through the league they play in.

Different countries have a different amount of people able to qualify, England being one of the biggest with four potential entries every season, the two teams who finish in first and second in the English Premiership automatically compete in the Champions League the following season, the teams who finish in third and fourth both have to go through some relatively easy qualifying stages.

The competition begins every season with the previously mentioned qualifying stages, then when the 32 teams have qualified they are split into eight groups of four teams and are labelled groups A-H.

All the teams in each individual group play each other twice, home and away and then the top two teams in each group go through to what most people regard as the interesting section of the competition, the knock-out stages. This is where the sixteen teams are drawn against another and they play each other twice to try and earn a place in toe the quarter finals.

The reason this is seen as the interesting bit is because the majority of the ties see the big hitters from the different countries play each other.
