Manchester United on Coral Sports Book

posted by Trix in Odds

Today on Coral Sports Book was the day that Manchester United eclipsed Liverpool’s dominance in capturing their eighteenth title after their 0-0 draw at Old Trafford with Arsenal.

The Premiership Title which was their third on the bounce is now number 18 in their history which equals Liverpool’s number of titles so this must have been more sweet this season as it was Liverpool who for the first time in a number of years that were their closest challengers and United cannot even start celebrating yet as they are involved in a certain European Champions League final against Barcelona who themselves are about to win the Spanish League so the final in Rome this year will be two teams going for a magical double.

This season has not been all plain sailing and if truth be known I would say Liverpool who were at the summit for so long at times this season have blown their chance of taking the title with home draws against Hull, Stoke and a few more being the games that ultimately cost them the title because they are the sort of games you NEVER see United dropping points in.

Ronaldo himself said after the game h will stay at United as they are the best club side in the world bar none and with this I see another major assault on the title next season but with Chelsea rumoured to be getting AC Milan manager Ancelotti to take up the reigns for the start of the new campaign I can see a very close fight between United, Liverpool and Chelsea next year but that can only be good for English Football on the whole.

Premier League Football at bwww.bet365.co.uk

When Alex Ferguson set out on his quest to ‘knock Liverpool off their pirch’ all those years ago on bwww.bet365.co.uk, even he would have thought that equalling their record of 18 domestic league titles may have been out of his grasp.

However, the dream came true on May 16th when United reached their ‘uncatchable’ target of 87 Premier League points after drawing 0-0 with Arsenal. Despite there being one game left against Hull, United lifted the Premier League trophy in front of their home fans for just the second time on Saturday giving them an extremely valuable rest period ahead of taking on Barcelona in the Champions League final on 27th May.

Expectant fans had prepared their “Champions” banners ready for the celebrations and they were not disappointed by the party that followed with their heroes letting their hair down after a tough season. United had been criticised by many for not playing their best football, particularly in the close season but one thing that they did have over the competition was consistency.

United won the most home games this season and while Liverpool lost the fewest games, their home form let them down with far too many draws. United’s professionalism which has seen them win their 18th league title will also see them revert to their strict training regime ahead of the big game in Rome as United will be looking to set more records and become the only team to ever retain the Champions League. For now, the Champagne is sure to be on ice.

Football in England and Europe at BetFair.com

With the credit crunch now deeply engrossed into most countries economies I think the sport of Football on www.BetFair.com and will be hit the hardest and next season I think is quite possible that a few of the massive clubs In England and Europe will really struggle to keep hold of their star players.

If some of these mega stars of World Football do not agree to substantial pay cuts I can see clubs accepting next to nothing transfer fees as they really struggle to pay them and in turn it could possibly make the bigger clubs much stronger and the weaker ones struggling to survive.

Portsmouth Football club are the perfect example as to what I am trying to say, when their Russian billionaire took them over a few years ago everybody was saying that this could be the team to finally challenge the top 4 in England but within a couple of years their owner has lost billions due to the current climate and now is trying to sell the club after a disastrous season that has seen his club nearly relegated and many of his star player who are on massive wages such as Sol Campbell, Sylvan Distan and the like looking like leaving as the club will struggle to pay their wages next season.

Another club that I fear will struggle to exist if they go down is Newcastle United, due to their massive wage bill and having an owner that is keen to sell I think this is a recipe for disaster and if they were to be playing Coca Cola Championship Football next season I do not think we will see the great Toon army in the Premiership for years to come.

Betting on Cricket online at Totesport.co.uk

I really get the feeling that this summer is do or die For England’s current crop of cricketers on Totesport.co.uk, after promising so much after that Ashes victory 3 years ago they have shown very little since and now if they are to have a really bad showing in this home series against the West Indies then the World Cup 20/20 competition which is also in England straight after the Test series against the West Indies.

I could see a whole host of changes to the team in time for that massive Ashes series and all them one day Internationals against the Aussies which is only now less than two months away. Players such as Kevin Pieterson and Andrew Flintoff will really need to show what they are worth to the England side now with a lot of players being called up with little or no experience that will need the likes of these two to be there to help them along if the going gets tough which I think maty well just happen once or twice.

Although I think England will gain revenge over the West Indies in this test series I think they will really struggle in the 20/20 World Cup and if Australia manage to do well in that competition and take a lot of confidence in to that Ashes series I really do feel sorry for England and really can see another white wash on the cards and with it probably being Australian captains Ricky Ponting last journey to England with his side due to his age catching up with him I expect a big series from him and I will be having a little bet on him being top runs corer in the series.
