If some of these mega stars of World Football do not agree to substantial pay cuts I can see clubs accepting next to nothing transfer fees as they really struggle to pay them and in turn it could possibly make the bigger clubs much stronger and the weaker ones struggling to survive.
Portsmouth Football club are the perfect example as to what I am trying to say, when their Russian billionaire took them over a few years ago everybody was saying that this could be the team to finally challenge the top 4 in England but within a couple of years their owner has lost billions due to the current climate and now is trying to sell the club after a disastrous season that has seen his club nearly relegated and many of his star player who are on massive wages such as Sol Campbell, Sylvan Distan and the like looking like leaving as the club will struggle to pay their wages next season.
Another club that I fear will struggle to exist if they go down is Newcastle United, due to their massive wage bill and having an owner that is keen to sell I think this is a recipe for disaster and if they were to be playing Coca Cola Championship Football next season I do not think we will see the great Toon army in the Premiership for years to come.
